Sunday, 09 September 2012 07 Grand Prix Spezial With the greatest of ease: Claudia Fassaert (BEL) and Donnerfee win the CDI4* Grand Prix Special
Showing the calm confidence of a world-class rider who can allow themselves a fault now and again, Claudia Fassaert from Belgium carried off the beautiful winner's trophy for today's CDI4* Grand Prix Special. The slip happened at the letter P where instead of riding her 12-year-old Donnerfee round to the right, she did not turn until F. However, the penalties did not detract much from the otherwise excellent score for the Belgian trained by Nicole Werner (NED).
All the judges again put her in number one position with a total of 70.067%. Runner-up Juliette Ramel (SWE) is also a protégé of Nicole Werner who coaches none other than Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud. The young Swedish rider gave a sound performance with the 13-year-old Chapman son Ten Points, posting 66.689%. Third place went to Austria: here Karina Prochaska (Vienna) riding Dow Jones was consistent in her movements with a score of 66.533%.
