Over the weekend from 05-08 September 2019, riders in the Longines Global Champions Tour saddled up their horses before the venerable setting of the Stadio dei Marmi in Rome (ITA). Impressive marble statues, Italian flair and an idyllically situated arena conjured up a stylish ambiance. GLOCK Rider Gerco Schröder was competing as part of the Prague Lions in the Global Champions League (GCL) of Rome, with 16-year-old Holsteiner GLOCK’s Cognac Champblanc and eleven-year-old KWPN gelding Davino Q.
A single time penalty in the saddle on GLOCK’s Cognac Champblanc, and an immaculate round on Saturday with Davino Q, meant a sensational victory for the Prague Lions in the Global Champions League of Rome. Over two days, Gerco’s team mate Marco Kutscher collected one knock-down on the team account, thus allowing the duo to win with a total of 5 penalty points ahead of Madrid in Motion and the Hamburg Lions.
