GLOCK Horses and Stars

GLOCK dressage stars Edward Gal, Hans Peter Minderhoud and Timna Zach excelled in the CDI4* CDI3* CDIU25 Dressage International at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER from 16 to 19 May and at the same time multi-talented GLOCK eventer Katrin Khoddam-Hazrati placed in the CSN-B* CSNP-B Sumperhof (Carinthia).

Dressage stars from all over the world had a great weekend at the CDI4* CDI3* CDIU25 at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER in Treffen. The American cult band Village People wowed on Thursday (16 May) with such hits as YMCA and In the Navy, soul singer Dionne Warwick gave an unforgettable evening on Friday (17 May), on Saturday (18 May) disco queen Gloria Gaynor rocked the GHPC with her famous songs including I Will Survive and in the middle of it all shone our GLOCK riders Edward Gal, Hans Peter Minderhoud and Timna Zach. Timna competed in the CDI3* on nine-year-old GLOCK’s Federleicht, a horse that moves very well, proving to be the best Austrian with two fifth places in the St Georges and Intermediate I and finishing ninth in the Intermediate I Freestyle.

The performances by GLOCK’s Romanov, GLOCK’s Lord of Loxley and GLOCK’s Ziesto under GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud were followed with great interest. He also delighted his fans with several top placings. The 14-year-old Lord Sinclair son GLOCK’s Lord of Loxley, for example, secured two second places in the CDI3* Grand Prix de Dressage (71.362%) and the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle (73.200%), while the 13-year-old Rohdiamant son GLOCK’s Romanov came third in the CDI4* Grand Prix de Dressage (70.681%). GLOCK’s Ziesto caused quite a sensation here with his impressive talent for movement, relaxed, elastic walk, wonderful extended trot and incredible elegance, which earned him two second places in the CDI3* Prix St Georges (71.868%) and Intermediate I (74.789%) and, as the icing on the cake, the win in the Intermediate I Freestyle (79.650%).

In the CDI4* Grand Prix de Dressage, however, there was no beating GLOCK dream team Edward Gal and GLOCK’s Undercover. Fantastic transitions, precise piaffes and relaxed half-passes alternated with trot extensions full of energy and effortless canter changes. It was a performance that the judges also unanimously rated the best of the event, awarding 79.085%. On the final day not only were the countless dressage fans’ nerves virtually at breaking point, but also GLOCK rider Edward Gal was a little worried about riding Glock’s Undercover in the rain for the first time. The weather was very changeable with intermittent heavy showers accompanied by gusts of cold wind. Luckily, the jet black Ferro son was hardly distracted and showed excellent movements to their music Secretum Revelatum. In fact, the GLOCK duo transported everyone with their fine art of dressage. Elegant, relaxed and yet powerful, the pair impressed with a technically and artistically balanced performance. This glimpse into another world was worth 83.450%, which meant victory for them.

Some distance away from the magical Dressage International at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER, GLOCK rider Katrin Khoddam-Hazrati did well in the CSN-B* at Sumperhof. On Saturday the Styrian rider finished third on GLOCK’s Optimist with a fast round in the jump-off of the 1.35 m M class. In the Sumperhof Grand Prix, a 1.40 m S* jump competition, the two again qualified for the jump-off and took runner-up spot with one knockdown.
