How to win hearts: Edward Gal and GLOCK’s Undercover excel in the CDI4* Grand Prix de Dressage

If it was quiet for the first rider — Juan Manuel Muñoz Díaz (ESP) on his famous P.R.E. stallion Fuego de Cardenas — absolute silence reigned while GLOCK rider Edward Gal (NED) and GLOCK’s Undercover performed their test in this CDI4* Grand Prix de Dressage. Last year, the pair had a remarkable track record culminating in third at the 2013 World Cup final in Gothenburg, not only taking the dressage arenas of the world by storm but also winning the audience’s hearts. Today they gave a dressage demonstration at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER: good halts, accurately ridden piaffes with beautifully smooth transitions, light-footed one-tempi changes and extended trots that were full of energy. There were cheers after the score was announced. The judges all put the GLOCK dream team in first place and some even awarded nines and tens (79.085%). Juan Manuel Muñoz Díaz (ESP) however also won over the hearts in the local audience. His 15-year-old grey stallion Fuego de Cardenas shone in the piaffes and passages, delighted the spectators with his extended trots and pirouettes and finished second on 72.809%.

Andrea John (AUT/Tyrol) succeeded in producing a pleasing test with only minimal faults. The rider from Tyrol convinced the judges in the Treffen arena with her Hanoverian gelding Esperanto 4 for 69.809% and third.
