Success for GLOCK in Verden and Wiener Neustadt

Verden in Germany was the venue for this year’s World Championships for Young Dressage Horses from 7 to 11 August 2013. Only the best five and six-year-old dressage horses that meet the various breed registries’ selection criteria beforehand actually qualified to take part. GLOCK rider Hans Peter Minderhoud presented GLOCK’s Zonik (Blue Hors Zack x GLOCK’s Romanov), which passed the Danish Warmblood Association’s scrutiny for these important championships. The two completed the first test with an excellent trot score of 9.5 and a total of 8.02 points for 13th place. They thus qualified for the Small Final, where the five-year-old son of Blue Hors Zack finished eighth.

At the same time, the third and final round of the CSI3* Equestrian Summer Circuit 2013 was held in Wiener Neustadt. In the 1.30 m Small Tour, GLOCK rider Gerfried Puck went clear twice on GLOCK’s Chamonix B to place 20th and 21st as well as 17th on GLOCK’s Usrava. Dieter Köfler competed here on GLOCK’s Lightning and also remained fault free, taking second and 19th.

The GLOCK team again secured top results in the 1.40 m Medium Tour: Gerfried Puck and GLOCK’s Usrava posted a clear round on Thursday and finished eleventh. On Friday, Dieter Köfler had a flawless ride on GLOCK’s Zyrano for third place. Saturday’s Grand Steinfeld Derby was extremely challenging with 22 obstacles, a height of 1.45 and a length of 830 metres. In fact, none of the starters completed the course without any faults, with the result that there was a jump-off among all those with four penalties. It did not pose any problems for GLOCK’s Usrava and GLOCK rider Gerfried Puck who remained clear, excelling in second place. Dieter Köfler and GLOCK’s Zyrano claimed twelfth with eight faults. Both thus gained valuable points for the Longines world rankings. In the 1.60 m Six Bars competition that followed, Dieter Köfler and GLOCK’s Lightning clinched ninth position.

The height of the Big Tour jumps was 1.50 m and, together with the summer heat, made the competition conditions particularly demanding here. Dieter on GLOCK’s Prince De Vaux however took them in his stride right from the start. A smooth, clear first round put them in 18th place. GLOCK rider Gerfried Puck, this time on GLOCK’s Wibo B, then collected valuable Longines world ranking points with 11th in the 1.50 m V.H.A. Championship. In the final Ostarrichi Grand Prix (1.55 m), Dieter Köfler as the best Austrian of 87 starters on GLOCK’s Prince de Vaux took fourth in the jump-off and Gerfried Puck on GLOCK’s Wibo B was 13th.
