We’ve won SILVER!

Today it was exciting from morning right to the finish. And how exciting! During the warm-up, concentration was high but everyone was calm. Only when Edward Gal and GLOCK’s Undercover entered the stadium did the tension mount. Would Frits manage to perform in such a big ring? He did! And not half! “Today I was so glad I had on my sunglasses,” said GLOCK trainer Nicole Werner after the audience gave a rapturous reception to the GLOCK pair’s stunning performance. “I was really emotional.”

Ed also showed his emotions, beaming from ear to ear. Just looking at him was enough to make you smile. It was not until afterwards that the nail biting began in the dressage arena and only came to an end when Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg put in an amazing performance: Germany took gold, the Netherlands silver and Great Britain bronze in the closest decision ever at European Team Championships.

GLOCK’s Voice was allowed to go to the awards ceremony today, while Fritsie had a nap in his stall. He had also more than earned it – tomorrow (Friday) he and GLOCK’s Romanov will be competing in the Grand Prix Special, where the best 15 qualify for the Freestyle. And Voicie? He was as good as gold, despite all the commotion while the medals were being presented.

Two old friends also saw each other again at the prize giving. GLOCK’s Romanov met up with Esben Møller who for many years ran the Blue Hors stud that gave him his old name: Blue Hors Romanov.
