World Champion title for My Toto

For the sixth time, the best young dressage horses and their trainers met at the WBFSH World Championship in Ermelo, the Netherlands. Team GLOCK was represented by a total of four horses: GLOCK Trainer-Rider Ruben Mengual Reig presented the four-year-old Hanoverian premium stallion GLOCK’s Energy, GLOCK Rider Hans Peter Minderhoud competed with GLOCK’s Massimo and My Toto in the six-year-old dressage class and, with KWPN-stallion Las Vegas, he competed in the seven-year-old class.

For GLOCK’s Energy, son of Escamillo, this was his first international tournament. Already in the qualification for the final, the beautiful black horse received great marks for his basic gaits, like 9.0 for his exceptional canter. In the final of the four year olds he got 82.8% and sixth place for his successful performance.

GLOCK Rider Hans Peter Minderhoud was able to deliver a top-class presentation of strong-gaited Las Vegas (Ferdeaux x Wynton x Houston) in Ermelo, despite their short time together. With scores of 8.9 for trot, 7.5 for walk, 9.0 for canter, 8.6 points for throughness and 9.0 points for perspective, this KWPN-stallion achieved fourth place in the first test with 81.170%. In the final he displayed less energy and some tension, but many nice moments for an ultimate ninth place.

The highlight of the weekend were the tests for six-year-olds, which were very exciting right till the end. Hans Peter competed with two GLOCK’s Toto Jr. offspring: newcomer GLOCK’s Massimo and My Toto out of a GLOCK’s Voice dam. In the qualification our three-time Olympian presented both horses skillfully and took them to 9th (GLOCK’s Massimo, 84.6%) and 17th (My Toto, 81%) places respectively.

Following 17th place in the qualification, My Toto competed in the small final of the six-year-olds and won magnificently with 87.6%. Thus he was also eligible for the final and opened the competition on Sunday in heavy rain. My Toto didn’t look like he was taking on his third test in three days, and he gave everything despite the adverse conditions. With an incredible 88.6% he achieved a high score under Hans Peter. All 14 competitors failed to reach this score and in the end it was clear; the title of World Champion goes to My Toto!

Newcomer GLOCK’s Massimo gave a very promising performance in the final of the six-year-old dressage horses and, after less than two months under Hans Peter Minderhoud, took 15th place!
